The Monastery Sao Vicente de Fora in Graca was yet another place that exceeded my expectations by far! Instead of an overload of religious information I got to see Lisbon from a different view.
The actually stunning part of this place was the building itself. It’s architecture and the view from the roof, of course!
Besides that, the monastery had an exhibition of Jean de La Fontaine’s fables told in azulejo panellings. Murals that originally decorated the walls of the hallways and contain over 7000 handpainted tiles!
Read the entire story about the Monastery Sao Vicente de Fora on my blog and join me on one of my next visits! Saturday I will go to the José Saramago Foundation. Sunday is still open for suggestions and the following Saturday I will be at the Museum of Portuguese Decorative Arts.
See you soon in a museum around Lisbon!
